Course reflection – you will reflect the learning experiences in this class. Your reflection will help you summarize your knowledge and skills and help me improve my teaching methodologies accordingly. Your reflection will be typed in a word document and then copy/paste the content to your blog. Your reflection will include:
I have learned a ton in this class. I have actually documented all of the resources that we used in this class, because I am going to use every one of them in the upcoming school year. I think that every resource that we had to use in this course would help students to remain more engaged in the learning process.
As always, I like writing in the blogs. It really makes me think about how I feel about each question or subject. It causes me to really reflect on the way that I truly feel. More than writing in the blogs, I think that I like seeing what others wrote in their blog. I really liked the way that the blog was set up this semester with each group member having a different set of questions. This really helped me in seeing different subjects with varying perspectives.
I have always been a fan of podcasts, but have never used the Vocaroo. I will be using that for my History class from now on!
I always like making video clips, because it seems like I always learn something new. In this case, it was voice over audio and the Edupuzzle project. I learned a lot more than I thought that I would on these projects.
I think that one of the most important things that a teacher can provide for their students are hands on projects. Most of these resources can be done as hands-on projects. I will definitely be using this in my AP Computer Science Principles course.
Electronic Portfolios are a great resource for teachers. I can literally keep everything at my fingertips and share whatever I need to share with my administration or my fellow teachers.
I think that my strongest point was the Google Docs project. I have lived in Google Docs for a few years now and can navigate pretty well, so this project was really easy for me. I think that my weakest point was the video. While my video turned out fine, I wanted it to turn out spectacular. I can definitely use some more work on that.
- What have you learned in this class
- Discuss all learning tools used in this class INDIVIDUALLY on 1) how do you like the tool, 2) how helpful is it, and 3) will you use it in your own teaching? Explain the reasons for your answer. Use examples to illustrate your answer when necessary.
- blog, comments on blog
- podcast clips
- video clips
- hands-on projects
- electronic portfolios
- Illustrate your strong and weak points
- Will you integrate these technologies into your classroom? Why or why not? What are your future learning goals?
